Position Summary
The General Manager will lead and coordinate strategic, operational, and financial management across the Investment Holdings and its subsidiaries. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving performance, strengthening governance and compliance, optimizing operations across business units, and ensuring the company achieves its long‑term growth ambitions in local and international markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Lead formulation and execution of the holding company's long‑term strategy aligned with vision and goals.
- Identify new investment opportunities, expansion pathways, and business diversification options.
- Guide subsidiaries to meet strategic objectives, improve competitiveness, and innovate.
2. Operational Excellence & Portfolio Oversight
- Oversee performance of key business units (e.g., food processing, animal feed, import/export, hospitality).
- Ensure operational standards are maintained and continuously improved across all companies.
- Drive cross‑business collaboration, shared services efficiencies, and synergies.
3. Financial & Business Performance
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, and capital allocation across the group.
- Monitor financial performance and key business indicators, driving profitability and cost‑efficiency.
- Present reports to the Board and recommend actions to mitigate risks or seize opportunities.
4. Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Establish and enforce robust corporate governance practices and ethical business culture.
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian regulations, tax laws, labor codes, and industry standards.
- Implement risk management frameworks and risk controls across the portfolio.
5. Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build and develop high‑performing executive and management teams.
- Champion talent development, succession planning, and a performance‑oriented culture.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and strong leadership practices throughout the organization.
6. Stakeholder & External Relations
- Represent the company with clients, partners, regulators, government institutions, and investors.
- Strengthen brand reputation, community engagement, and external partnerships.
- Advocate for the company in strategic forums and industry platforms.
Core Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree in business administration, Management, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 10–15 years of senior leadership experience, ideally with multi‑sector or holding company exposure.
- Strong track record in corporate strategy, operational management, and financial oversight.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English and local languages (e.g., Amharic); strong cultural and business understanding of Ethiopia.
