About the Company
People First Consult is recruiting on behalf of a leading and well-established manufacturing company in Ethiopia, operating in the paints, décor, adhesives, and waterproofing sector. The company has its head office and manufacturing facility in Addis Ababa, with a salesforce distributed nationwide.

The Role
The company is seeking a dynamic and experienced Ethiopian national to take on the role of Human Resources & Administration Head. This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving both strategic and operational HR and administrative functions across the organization.
The successful candidate will lead and oversee key areas through a dedicated HR team, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business objectives and growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Plan workforce needs across all departments
- Manage recruitment processes, agencies, contracts, and background checks
- Develop job descriptions and induction programs for new employees
2. Training & Development
- Conduct training needs analysis and manage training budgets
- Design and implement training programs with external partners
- Lead performance and development planning with business heads
3. Compensation & Benefits
- Manage salary structures, benefits, and employee cost budgets
- Conduct benchmarking and salary reviews
- Oversee payroll preparation and compensation planning
4. Performance Management
- Implement company-wide performance appraisal systems
- Monitor employee performance and lifecycle development
5. Industrial Relations
- Maintain stable factory operations and manage employee relations
- Handle grievances and ensure compliance with labor standards
- Support wage negotiations and maintain industrial peace
6. Employee Engagement
- Drive employee engagement and positive workplace culture
- Manage grievance mechanisms and internal communication
- Lead employer branding initiatives
7. Compliance & Policy
- Ensure full legal and labor law compliance
- Maintain HR policies, attrition data, and employee records
- Report compliance status to senior leadership
8. Administration
- Oversee travel, logistics, security, and general admin services
- Manage vendor relationships and expense controls
Experience & Qualifications:
- At least 10 years HR experience, preferably in manufacturing
- Strong hands-on HR across operations, recruitment, ER/IR, performance, compliance, and admin
- Multinational experience is an advantage
- Able to work independently and engage effectively with
- Good ability to train people
